MEMBERS INDEX

Founded in October of 2007, the Art Jewelry Guild gives the many creative jewelry makers in the Grand Junction area a place to meet and share our interests.  We are composed of skilled professionals and student artisans in the areas of silver work, precious metal clay, wire work, beadweaving, glass creation, polymer clay, and various other jewelry-making techniques.  We meet monthly to share experiences, new processes and news in our varied fields of work.  Classes are conducted by many of our members, and display and sales opportunities are explored.

Goals of the Art Jewelers Guild of Grand Junction:

  • Networking of area art jewelers
  • Continued education of art jewelers
  • Expanding skill bases of art jewelers
  • Mentoring art jewelers
  • Promoting sales of art jewelry
  • Increasing awareness of art jewelry in the community

Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from 7 to 9 pm.  Location will be given by email.

Classes

The current class line-up includes beadweaving classes in peyote and herringbone, basic and advanced wire-wrapping and benchwork.  Instructors are professionals and classes are accessible to both beginner and advanced.  We plan to expand our classes to include both more practical areas, such as how to use tools, and more theoretical areas, such as design and creativity.  Scheduled classes will be posted in the Events Calendar or check out our Home page for instructors.

Opportunities

The Guild plans to host one or more sales events during the year in order to provide an opportunity for its members to make their creations available to the public.  Student artisans will have a place to show and sell their work, along with the professional jewelry makers in the group.
